Wendt Funeral Home
We have been in the funeral business for over 150 years, and are pleased to add this online information to the services we provide. At Wendt Funeral Home, we understand that it's not always possible to pay respects in person due to time, or distance, or any number of other factors, so we hope that this small token will help.

They are very considerate, caring, and efficient when called on to help at a time of extreme distress and emotional upset. They help take the burden off you and make your wishes a reality. The family and staff at Wendt made an extremely difficult time and process as easy as it could possibly be. They answered all my questions and went above and beyond in all matters.

Our Story
Report
The Wendt family has been in the funeral business for six generations. They began in 1866 with J. Robert Earler, who came to Illinois from Germany around 1853. As an established cabinetmaker, he was called upon to provide wooden caskets for area farmers. When a person passed away in those days, the funeral was usually conducted in the home of the deceased, and the burial was in a plot on the family farm.

Obituary Listing
Report
Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
Veteran Memorial Wall
Report
G. K. Chesterton wrote, Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die. The men and women who served in the armed forces, whether during a time of war, or one of peace, are living examples of that contradiction. Each should be honored and remembered, so that our gratitude never fades.
