Your Premier Washington Wine Shop & Tasting Room in Coupeville
Vail Wine Shop opened its doors in November 2011 as Coupeville's exclusive destination for Washington state wines. Our shop combines a tasting room, wine bar, and retail space to offer a unique experience centered on education, community, and enjoyment of regional wines. We curate selections from the state's finest vineyards, emphasizing exclusive and hard-to-find bottles. Daily tastings allow customers to explore red and white varietals before purchasing, fostering informed choices. Our commitment to creating a welcoming environment has cultivated a loyal following, evidenced by the rapid growth of our Washington Wine-of-the-Month Club.In 2014, we expanded to a waterfront location, enhancing our ability to serve guests while maintaining our cozy, personalized atmosphere. The 2015 purchase of our historic building allowed us to develop VAIL'S VIEW, a vacation rental offering panoramic views of Penn Cove. Our family-owned operation expanded further in 2016 with a sister shop in Snohomish, managed by our son and daughter-in-law. We prioritize customer engagement through events like Friday night tastings and community gatherings. Our longevity and customer relationships reflect our dedication to quality, authenticity, and showcasing Washington's wine heritage.

I dont understand this place at all, its absolutely horrible. First, when we walked in no one else was there but the two owners and neither greeted or even acknowledged us. Then the whole time the male owner was extremely condescending and snarky, for wine that wasnt even that good. Liked 1 wine out of the 6 in the flight and Im not picky. In all the time Ive been with my girlfriend I can honestly say this was by far our most awkward date due to how weird the owners made it. We just tried to get out as quickly as possible. Lastly the reason I picked this wine bar is because its

Love the owners! You may sit inside, outside in front to people watch the folks on Front Street, or dock porch and watch the wharf, seals playing, and boats going by. Perfect tiny plates and small bites...

Worst winetasting experience in my 60 years of life! Terrible seating arrangement and rude servers. And they may want to try serving expensive wine in a proper wine glass instead of a jar. Ill never go there again. One star is too much but zero is not an option.

I would have given 5 Stars but.................. decided to take a quick run down the coast from Fairhaven to Coupeville WA. yesterday (6/12/2021) as we had just moved into the area and we found Vail Wine Shop & Tasting Room. What a wonderful surprise. The owners were very kind and knowledgeable, the wine choices were terrific (we had the Ryan Patrick Reserve Chardonnay) and the small food pairing were perfect. We tried both the charcuterie tray and the truffle popcorn, both were just what the doctor ordered. We sat out front, watched the world go by and enjoyed the mid-afternoon sun. My ONLY complaint

A cute little shop, but a bit on the pricey side for the tastings offered. The staff were very kind and the Main Street Coupeville setting was picturesque.
