Children are encouraged to learn, explore, play, be creative, and have fun! At the Codimonk Nursery School, our dedicated staff is committed to the highest quality of teaching. We want to provide each child with a variety of experiences to explore the world around them and guide them through the Early Childhood Education journey.

We use the Learning without Tears curriculum as well as the Pocket of Preschool curriculum. Each week we focus on a theme and give the children guidance as well as explore their interests. We currently follow the Westport Community School calendar and do not operate during the summer or school vacations.

Pre-Kindergarten Class

Report

Our Pre-Kindergarten class is designed to prepare students for kindergarten while continuing to foster the need for open ended play, exploration, and collaboration. The Pre-K class is ideal for ages 4-5 and children must be 4 before Sept 1 in order to enter the Pre-K class as this class is intend for students who are entering kindergarten the following year.

Preschool Class

Report

Our Preschool class is often a child's first experience in a school environment. The Preschool class is ideal for ages 2.9-4. Our goal is to nurture each child's love of learning and allow children to be explores of the world around them. Each week we focus on a different theme within the classroom and themes are often based upon the children's interest.

Playground

Report

We are so lucky to have the Westport Town Playground right outside our door. Each day (weather permitting) the children have at least 30 minutes of unstructured play time outside. The playground has two climbing structures, slides, swings, two sandboxes and lots of space to run. If the weather is not suitable for outside, we have access to a large gymnasium.
