Thornhill Pet Hospital was originally established in 1966 and has been serving the Bay Area ever since. Before this was an animal hospital, our building housed several different businesses. Our building has been drive-thru milk processing facility as well as a service station!

In house ultrasonography performed by a board certified veterinary radiologist (by appointment). Soft tissue surgery including spay, neuter surgery and other types of soft tissue surgery. Thornhill Pet Hospital has an in house pet laboratory for pre-operative/pre-dental blood panels. We also work with commercial and veterinary school clinical laboratories.

Dr. Carlos M. Yang, owner and veterinarian in Oakland, CA at Thornhill Pet Hospital, was born in Peru and graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos one of the oldest universities in South America. Dr. Yang attended Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in West Lafayette, Indiana before obtaining his California veterinary license.

Alicia is Dr. Yang's wife and our practice manager. She graduated in 1983 from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor's Degree in Organismal Biology and is a proud 2011 graduate of John F. Kennedy University College of Law earning a J.D. degree. Alicia has over 30 years of experience in the animal care field and feels privileged to be able to help care for our patients.

We have recycling bins at the front desk, in the veterinarian's office and in the treatment area.
