Cristina Gonzales is the granddaughter of migrant farm workers from Texas, who moved to Wisconsin to pick cherries in search of a better life. She comes from a long lineage of those who work with their hands. This lineage fuels her passion for the welfare of vineyard stewards, without which we wouldn't have the beautiful wines we do.

In 2020, Cristina joined the nonprofit AHIVOY as a board member to help with the mission of empowering vineyard stewards. Learn more about Cristina, her mission to uplift vineyard stewards, and Gonzales wines on our About the Winemaker page. Includes 2 bottles every 6 months, custom merch such as a tote bag or print, and subscription benefits.

Report
For Latinx women in the wine industry, the road to winery ownership often proves even steeper. Cristina Gonzales's grandparents were migrant farm workers from Texas, who moved to Wisconsin to pick cherries in search of a better life. Cristina's passion for wine began as a backpacker in 2001 when she reached Mendoza, Argentina, the epicenter of South American Malbec.
Ahivoy
Report
AHIVOY is an Oregon nonprofit working to empower vineyard stewards. There is no wine without grapes, and there are no grapes without those who work long days in the vineyard. These workers, or vineyard stewards, face socioeconomic challenges for which AHIVOY provides education and professional development to help overcome.
