Guests will be seated upon arrival. No one will be allowed inside the brewery building. Merchandise and glassware can still be viewed at our outside display and purchased at our take-out window. Monhegan Brewing Company is a family owned and operated small brewery. Owned by Matt and Mary Weber, year-round residents of Monhegan Island, and also Mary's father, Danny McGovern.
Danny began his brewing career in 1992 when he opened Lake St. George Brewing Company. He went on to brew at other midcoast Maine breweries for the last 25 years prior to taking the plunge into brewery ownership again. A respected member of the Maine brewing community, Danny takes pride in having passed on the craft to his daughter and son-in-law, and manages a trip to the island regularly to check in.

After hiking the back side of Monhegan or strolling through town, nothing's better than having a seat in our famous "Trap" room with a pint of MBC brew!. You can enjoy your beer in our spacious outside seating area under the shade of our many tents and umbrellas. We provide a selection of Maine-made snacks in our tap room, and often have a food truck on site.

Our taproom is always stocked with a selection of five beers on tap, and several cans and bottled beers to choose from. Please note that our selection is constantly changing. You're welcome to call ahead to see what will be available during your visit to the island. Pilsner malt, a touch of wheat, and German Kolsch yeast give this beer its traditional light body and slightly sweet flavor.
