Valley Preparatory School is a Preschool-8th grade school located in Redlands, California. It was founded in 1957 as an independent, nonprofit coeducational day school. VPS was established by a group of parents who were interested in providing a challenging academic program to area students who were willing and able to take advantage of a demanding and stimulating experience.

The VPS Board of Trustees is a team of nine elected individuals, the founder of Valley Prep, Mary Jane Auerbacher, and our head of school, John Black. Each dedicates his/her time time to Valley Prep for the benefit or our students. The board assists in implementing school programs, planning, and budgeting.

Valley Preparatory School is gradually implementing the International Baccalaureate - Primary Years Program (IB-PYP), a holistic approach to teaching and learning that promotes cultural sensitivity and international-mindedness. The IB-PYP program uses six trans-disciplinary themes to organize traditional curricular content.

We couldn't do it without the support of our active parent and teacher community. Thanks to their efforts, our fundraisers, which help provide for extra programs and equipment, are hugely successful. The PTO also plans and implements other school events and programs. At Valley Prep, we appreciate their hard work and enjoy the positive relationship we share.
