Raised on a small Ohio farm, Karen Colburn spent her young years caring for horses, dogs, birds, ducks, and rabbits. As a young adult, she lived in a log cabin with her Old English sheepdog, Daisy, and pet raccoons Bennie and Rocky.

Following graduate school, Karen took her first professional publishing job in Washington, DC, and divided her time between her Thoroughbred Quarterhorse mix, Starlit River Dazzle; gray kitty, Emily; and two Old English Sheepdogs, Eliza Violet and Samantha Bluebell.Since starting Rivercliff Cottage Pet Care in 2018, Karen has been privileged to work with more than 40 Crownsville pets-each with their own unique personality!

We'll refresh food and water, clean up mistakes, and spend some quality time with your furry or feathered friends. We'll also bring in your mail and water your plants!
