Every YMC concert ends with a "Big Sing" in which all the groups participate, enabling the younger kids to experience the possibility of something bigger, and enabling the older kids to experience the joy of mentorship and the affection that comes with now being on the supportive end of the endeavour.

Young Musician's Chorus was founded in 2020 after enjoying many years as one of Crowden Music Center's community education offerings. Our purpose is to give young musicians a place to sing that caters to their strengths. Even at the entry level, which requires no previous experience, we challenge our singers with excellent repertoire that pushes the edge of their capabilities.

We are very fortunate to have Irene Jacobson at the piano for our A Musicum group! Irene has been with us since (2009?), and is our secret super power. Irene received double degrees in Music and Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. Given her incredible sensitivity to the musical needs of our students, those degrees come as no surprise.

Ages 7 - 12+ No previous training necessary - just come have fun while making good music! Musical self-confidence and basic vocal technique are taught using the kind of excellent repertoire kids deserve but rarely experience, including classical and folk music from all parts of the world. Each child discovers their voice is an essential part of something bigger and more wonderful than they might have imagined.

An executive council of equally empowered members. 2. A group whose members pursue shared goals while working within a framework of mutual trust and respect. Collegium Musicum, under its former name, has performed to critical acclaim - despite the group's irreverent nature. Our members have been singing together for as long as 12 years, and on average 6.
