A native of the Aloha State, Kevin grew up on the west side of Maui in the old whaling village of Lahaina. Much of what he learned about surfing took place at Honolua Bay, where his cousin not only taught him the basics of surfing, but how to prepare for professional competitions as well. Starting with the World Qualifying Series in 2008, his professional career has taken him on adventures that circle the globe.
