Dr. Harry Boparai is nominated as the President Elect of the King County Optometric Physicians of Washington. I am truly honored to be nominated the President Elect of the King County OPW (Optometric Physicians of Washington). I relocated to Washington State 2 years ago from New York City.
I did not expect to be taking such an active role in the state organization so quickly, but the need was there and to my surprise my colleagues asked me to step up.In my 12 years spent practicing eye care in NYC I have been exposed to truly the best and the brightest our profession has to offer.

Studies report that upwards of 80% of dry eyes are the result of a lipid layer deficiency. The oil for the lipid layer of the tears comes from the meibomian glands. When these meibomian glands do not release the oil into the tears in an efficient manner we refer to that as a condition named meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
