The Gaston College Campus Police and Security Department supports the College's mission to provide a safe and secure campus and learning environment by assisting others with the highest commitment to professionalism, service, respect, and integrity. The Gaston College Campus Police Department is a state-authorized law enforcement agency.
Celebrating 50 Years
Report
Gaston College will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout the 2014-2015 academic year, with a calendar of activities to commemorate a half-century of commitment to Gaston and Lincoln counties. The signature sponsor of the College's Golden Anniversary Celebration activities is CaroMont Health.

Beginning in September, the Give 50 for 50 Challenge will encourage Gaston College students, alumni, faculty, staff and retirees to volunteer at least 50 hours of community service to organizations serving Gaston and Lincoln counties.Hours will be tracked and participants will be recognized at a ceremony in May of 2015.
Governance

The president of the College's Student Government Association is also a member. Standing Board Committees include the Finance and Facilities Committees and the Campus Affairs Committee. The Board of Trustees generally meets monthly, but not less than quarterly. Meetings are typically held in the Myers Center Board Room located on the Dallas Campus.
History of the College

Gaston College has a rich and vibrant history dating back to 1963. From its humble beginnings, the College has grown into one of the largest community colleges in North Carolina, boasting three campuses-Dallas, Lincoln, and Kimbrell-that serve Gaston and Lincoln Counties. Beginning with just two buildings in 1964, by the end of the 1970s, a total of 10 buildings graced the Dallas, or main, Campus.
