Services
Play Therapy
Play therapy at Mind Works utilizes creative techniques to help children aged 3-12 express emotions and develop coping strategies through structured play activities. Our registered play therapists create safe environments where children can explore feelings, resolve conflicts, and build social skills. This evidence-based approach addresses behavioral issues, anxiety, and developmental challenges while involving parents in the therapeutic process for comprehensive support.
Psychological Assessments
Our comprehensive assessments evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral development for children aged 3-17 through standardized testing and clinical interviews. Psychologists analyze academic strengths, identify learning disabilities, and diagnose conditions like ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. The process includes personalized reports with recommendations for educational accommodations, therapy, or medical referrals to create tailored treatment plans for each child's needs.
Medication Management
Mind Works provides medication management services for children requiring pharmacological support as part of their mental health treatment. Board-certified psychiatric providers conduct initial evaluations, develop individualized medication plans, and monitor treatment effectiveness through regular follow-up appointments. This service integrates with therapy to ensure holistic care while emphasizing gradual reduction of medication dependence when appropriate for long-term wellness.
Teen Counseling
Our evidence-based teen counseling programs address anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges in adolescents aged 13-17 using cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy techniques. Therapists work with teens to develop emotional regulation skills, improve social interactions, and navigate transitional life challenges. The program emphasizes empowerment and independence while maintaining family involvement for comprehensive support during critical developmental years.
Parent Support Services
Mind Works offers specialized parent support programs to help caregivers understand their child's behavioral health needs and implement effective strategies at home. Licensed counselors provide guidance on managing challenging behaviors, improving communication, and supporting treatment goals. These services include collaborative sessions that integrate parental insights into the child's therapeutic process for consistent support across home and clinical environments.

I have known the owners for over 8 years and have taken a family member to Mind Works. Therefore, I can speak of them both personally and professionally. There truly is no better place for this service, especially for children and young adults. On the personal level, I know how much they truly care about everyone they meet. On a professional level, the entire staff is a reflection of the dedication to helping others and competence that gets results that the owners exude. During the incredibly trying time of this pandemic and the fear and anxiety it has caused many people, we are incredibly blessed

We spent a lot of time and money for testing and evaluation for our sons ADD to explore alternative medication therapy. Our family suffered a death and divorce and when we needed their help the most for our son we were turned away and with NO Empathy or care about helping him. We were established with the doctors and therapists and we (especially my son) felt comfortable with their staff which as most understand is often very challenging. They dont want to be subpoenaed in the event of a custody battle however I was able to provide them with proof that was not an issue nor even a potential

I have a referral to this place and have called three times to make an appointment to get help for my daughter. I've left detailed messages twice, no return call. I finally got someone to answer only to get hung up on. Three strikes, you're out. Looking for help elsewhere.

My son who is 11 years old started going and seeing a counselor. Our son was thriving and enjoyed going even when he thought he didnt need it. We had a total of 4 visits. After we were called for the 5th visit we were informed that the counselor Was out on medical leave we completely understood then weeks passed and we were informed she would no longer be at the practice. We understood at the time because things and situations happen. We chose to stay with the practice after discussing it with our son to make sure he was comfortable. During the transition COVID happened and he did video calls

Well I cannot actually rate the counseling services, but I i showed up 10 minutes late for a 1 hour appointment and they refused to see me. Y'all I have 5 kids,my husband is out of town, and I got a sitter to try to make this appointment to get help for my 5 year who was abused in school. refusal to see someone at their fIrst appointment without making expectations clear is harsh.

Great staff, kind. However, they gave my son an Autism diagnosis when he was 3. This had an emotional and financial impact on us. My life began to revolve around treatments. But I had still had unanswered questions. My son had gone through extensive testing with Mr. Gabe. Yet 2 years, at a different location my son had more testing and was given a language disorder diagnosis. Now we target only what he needs. What I went through with ABA therapy was ridiculous. I contacted Mindworks twice about this misdiagnosis. Heard nothing back. So, I am sure they are better at some things than others. I am
