Established in April 2016, BallroomU is a dance studio dedicated to teaching professional and contemporary dance classes to individuals of all ages and skill levels in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Our mission is to make dancing accessible and enjoyable for everyone, whether they're looking to compete in grand ballrooms or simply enjoy social dancing with a partner and friends. Located in the Harrison Pointe Shopping Centre in Cary, NC, our studio features an open layout with a floating floor specially designed for ballroom dancing.We believe that if you can move, you can dance, and our goal is to create a judgment-free space where students of all backgrounds can learn, grow, and connect through dance. Our comprehensive curriculum introduces movements that get students on the dance floor quickly, with a structured approach that builds skills progressively through Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. We offer private lessons, group classes, and practice parties to accommodate various learning preferences and schedules.

Wedding Dance Instruction

Kids Dance Programs

Owner Austin Moon established BallroomU in 2016 after teaching dance professionally since 2001. He created a welcoming space for dancers of all levels to learn and grow together.

We teach a wide variety including Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Salsa, Bachata, and many more social dance styles.
Are there any contracts or long-term commitments?
We don't require long-term contracts - students simply choose the number of lessons they'd like to take.
Can I try a class before committing?
Yes! We offer free introductory group classes for first-time attendees and discounted guest lesson packages for new students.

Just had our first introductory lesson with Ashley. She was great and put us at ease. We are trying to get ready for a cruise next month...and to quote Smokey and the Bandit. I've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there. But with Ashley's help we just might not be an embarrassment to our selves. Thank You Ashley and Deirdre!

Best studio around. Awesome teachers, always fun, friendly, a place to learn and experience a wide variety of dances. No judgement, no "sobiness." Different teaching methods all customized to your best way to learn. Absolutely love it and can't say enough about how great this has been for me. For all levels, from non-experienced to competition dancing, single or couples, all agegroups . Always clean and safe. Dont know how I made it 47 yrs through life without dancing. Started late discovering my true passion but I'm hooked now. You definitely have to check BallroomU out. Austin and Whitney

My husband and I began dance lessons with BallroomU in preparation for a Great Gatsby party. Whitney knew exactly what we would need to learn to dance and have fun at this type of party, in addition to teaching us other dances. She is welcoming and relaxed, perfect for anyone who is hesitant or anxious about learning to dance in front of others.This studio exceeded our expectations and we will continue to be part of this wonderful community even after our Gatsby party!

I've been with BallroomU since it opened. These are people who are going to care about you first. You're never going to feel pressured to do things you're uncomfortable with and your dancing will move at your pace. They offer a lot of great classes, parties, and events to keep you engaged in your dancing and dancing with others at the studio with no pressure to spend.

I was in the area (from Dallas, Texas) for a training and stopped by 2 nights for lessons. The people who work there (Austin, Whitney, & Ian) were very welcoming as well as the other students. I highly recommend BallroomU if you are in town or live nearby!
