Belair Cooperative Nursery School, established in 1962, is one of the oldest nursery schools in the City of Bowie. Our school is a non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-partisan organization. It has been licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education since 1970. Our school building is located behind the Christian Community Presbyterian Church on Belair Drive in Bowie.
We are a cooperative preschool program where families become actively involved in their child's education. All families volunteer their time and talents to help our school function and thrive. We offer classes for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, and boast low monthly tuitions. Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is closed however we still have availability and can enroll students on a case by case basis.

What We Offer

At Belair Cooperative Nursery School, all of our classes focus on child development through play, building creativity, and instilling confidence. A daily routine would include circle time, arts & crafts, stories, and interactive play. We also introduce our students to music, Spanish, and yoga. Every day we provide a healthy, peanut and tree nut free snack to all of our students.

Our purpose is to provide children with a group experience that extends the values of family life by fostering a sense of community involvement. It is the philosophy of the school to encourage student awareness of and participation in one's natural, social, and cultural environment. The school attempts to provide a program which is appropriate to the child's stage of development and which is satisfying to him or her.

Registration begins in February for the upcoming school year. Our classes are limited in size; therefore, registration is done on a first come first serve basis. All children must be fully potty trained to be eligible.
If there is an opening in the class for which your child is eligible, a spot on the roster may be held when the completed registration packet, non-refundable registration fee, and May tuition payment have been received by the Vice President - Membership.
