Kihei surf lessons can be a one-day activity, a camp, private coaching or longer programs are available too. The Maui waves are great for beginners and advanced surfers too. The minimum age to surf in a group class is 10 years old, anyone under will need to take a semi-private or a private class.
Our average lesson is about two hours long; this allows for some talk time and a short land lesson, before getting into the water and catching some waves.Most people will be fully satisfied (and exhausted) after their surf session. We offer all levels of Maui windsurfing lessons for you and your entire family. Total beginners will start on the longboard lessons learning all the basics and sail handling skills. After a week or so on the longboard, you may want to try some shorter boards in the stronger winds. When learning to windsurf we use big floaty boards that are very stable and easy to use.

It was originally called "beach boy surfing, " named after the famous Waikiki beach boys, who combined their outrigger canoe paddling skills with their surfing skills. Stand-up paddle surfing (SUP) begins on flat water, where you can get your balance on the oversized boards.
