Escape Rooms
Lock Chicago's themed escape rooms immerse groups in story-driven puzzles requiring teamwork and critical thinking. Each 60-minute experience, like rescuing Kong the gorilla or recovering the Drum of Order, challenges participants to solve sequential riddles without physical confinement. Designed for ages 12+, these private sessions accommodate groups of four or more, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving over traditional 'locked room' scenarios.
Scavenger Hunts
Our mobile scavenger hunts transform urban environments into interactive game spaces through smartphone technology. Teams complete location-based challenges and solve puzzles while exploring neighborhoods, combining physical activity with digital engagement. These scalable experiences suit corporate events, family gatherings, or casual outings, offering flexible group sizes and customizable themes for tailored adventures across Chicago.
Team Building
Lock Chicago's team-building programs use escape room challenges to enhance workplace collaboration and leadership skills. Groups up to 40 participants tackle timed puzzles that require communication, role specialization, and strategic planning. Available in our Evanston facility or as mobile units at client offices, these sessions foster trust and problem-solving abilities through shared objectives and post-game performance analysis.
Questions
What is an escape room?
An escape room is a themed puzzle experience where teams solve sequential challenges to achieve a goal within 60 minutes. At Lock Chicago, our 'Challenge Rooms' focus on story-driven objectives rather than physical confinement.
What age group are the games designed for?
Our experiences are recommended for ages 12 and older. Younger participants may join with adult supervision, but puzzles are designed for middle-school level critical thinking and above.
How do I book a session?
Reserve your game through our website by selecting a room, date, and time. Sessions require minimum 4 tickets and are available hourly. Confirmation emails include arrival instructions and pre-game preparation details.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Yes! We host up to 40 people hourly in our facility. For groups exceeding 8, we divide teams across multiple rooms and rotate through different challenges to maintain engagement.
Are there parking options available?
Free parking exists in our building lot directly across from Central Street Metra station. Street parking is available one block north on Central Street if the lot reaches capacity.

We tackled Mitsuri and did complete, though we needed to use one of the hints. Very challenging, but certainly doable. Lots of fun. Good facilities and good props. Definitely would like to come back for the steam punk theme one.

Being a big fan of escape rooms, I think this one is my favorite. Not only is it a great place, but it's a generous one that cares about its community. The people at Lock are fabulous and they kindly donated to our school fundraiser as well. Anytime you can have a great place that really cares, it's wonderful.

My family and I really enjoy doing escape rooms, so we signed up for Malfunction. Honestly, it was underwhelming. Many escape rooms play into the themes, including decor and interesting clues. Malfunction was a sparsley decorated room where the theme had nothing to do with the escape room. We solved an array of unrelated puzzles and ended up successfully completing the room. If you just want to solve random puzzles, then this escape room is fine but if you are looking for a unique escape room experience that challenges everyone to work together, tests different skills, and really challenges you

My family loved the escape room we completed at Lock Chicago! It was a really well made and intricate puzzle that everyone enjoyed!! The staff was so nice and the hint/help during the game was personalized so it wasnt too easy or too hard! They are also very accommodating with booking changes in advance and reply to emails almost immediately (even during holiday weeks)! We will most definitely be returning, it was worth every penny.

I reached out to Lock Chicago to ask if they would be willing to donate to a fundraiser. They responded incredibly quickly and were gracious enough to offer their support. Their quick response and generosity are greatly appreciated, and I am looking forward to including their donation in our silent auction.

Great experience for friends and family! Themes are unique compared to some of the other escape rooms weve done and the puzzles are really intuitive. Friendly host who did a great job explaining the story. Definitely recommend thanks Lock Chicago!
