Hurley Nursery School is a private, non-profit, nursery school in the historic Ulster County town of Hurley NY that fosters emotional, social, cognitive and physical development in each and every child. It is administered by a Governing Board comprised of volunteer members. Within this Board, a President, Vice President, Vice President of Education, Secretary and Treasurer are elected annually.
To provide a rich, stimulating environment in which each child may grow and learn at his or her own pace. To provide the opportunity for nursery school age children to enjoy being and learning together. We believe children learn to play and play to learn, and provide varied activities and equipment to promote this belief.

Classes/Programs

Our programs are designed to provide children with balanced but varied experiences based on the concept of "learning by doing". Each well-planned day provides active and quiet play. The children are given opportunities to learn using blocks, paints, puzzles, books, clay, water, climbing apparatus and small manipulative toys.

I'm Mrs. Cotter, the classroom teacher at the Hurley Nursery School. We offer a Toddler Time Program, a Three Year Old Program, a Four Year Old Program, and an Enrichment Class, and I am thrilled that I get to teach all of them! I grew up in lower Westchester, and have moved a few times throughout the tri-state area.
