Personalized Education for Grades 6-12
At The Maven Academy, we are dedicated to creating a challenging yet nurturing learning environment where students in grades 6 through 12 can thrive. Our approach emphasizes personalized education, recognizing that each student has unique learning styles and needs. Founded in 2013, our institution builds upon the legacy of the Benjamin Franklin Center, which served the homeschool community for over 19 years. We blend the strengths of public, private, and homeschool models to offer a flexible and rigorous academic experience. With a maximum enrollment of 30 students, we ensure individualized attention and one-on-one support. Our philosophy centers on building strong relationships with students and fostering collaboration with parents, who actively participate in quarterly meetings to shape curriculum and events. We offer enrichment programs for homeschoolers, facilitate credit transfers, and provide specialized electives such as career exploration, martial arts, and French culture. Our team, led by Chief of Administration Gina Vogel, brings decades of educational expertise to create a community where students are guided toward academic success at their own pace. We host open houses and shadowing opportunities to help families experience our unique environment firsthand.

Middle school is always hard, but by the end of 6th grade my daughter was so unhappy with the chaos and mean girl culture that we decided to make a change. The Maven Academy has provided the alternative we were seeking. It is a supportive, calm and positive environment with a one-room schoolhouse vibe. Cell phones are collected at the start of each day so that kids will focus on their schoolwork, not their instagram feed. My daughter feels safe, appreciated and respected by her teachers and her peers. The 3-day school week requires a self-disciplined approach to homework but provides great opportunity

This is our third year here and its been a perfect fit for us. Getting the core classes at the school and homeschooling electives has been a great way to manage our time and interests. The dual enrollment program offered at AACC has put our child on track to graduate early. There has been some rotation of teachers but we are very pleased this year. This is a school best suited for students who need some structure but can also work independently.

This is a great small private school. You won't find the Common Core here or a one size fits all education. My child is receiving a more relevant education than she did in public school and feels much more comfortable and confident. The staff is caring, competent and invested in the success of each student.

If you have a child who is struggling with serious mental health issues, this school is not for them. My child delt with bullying on her first day, she knew she wasnt welcomed, in the schools defense the person who showed ill feelings toward my daughter had known her before she enrolled there, although she didnt expect any of this to happen. When she went to the administration about it, Mrs. Vogel, the head of the school told her several times it was "drama" but didnt stop it. My daughter had delt with bullying before and she thought shed be safe here. My daughter missed several days of school
