Born in Laguna Beach, California, Erik Nelsen had his first surfing experience through a small family-run surf camp. The intimacy and expertise of this positive experience fueled Erik's passion for the sport and inspired his life-long love of surfing. Erik has surfed around the world, including work as a lifeguard/surf guide on the world famous Tavarua Island Surf Resort in Fiji for over 25 years.

Welcome to Orange County's #1 ALL DAY Surf Camp! Come join Erik Nelsen's 35 years of youth camp experience for a week of exciting Surf Camp. BOYS and GIRLS will receive surf instruction; learn ocean awareness, tide cycles, wave types, eco-friendly beach exercises, as well as beach activities including relay races, beach flags, and other junior lifeguard games.

Girls, let's go surf this summer! Erik Nelsen's female surf instructors will teach this All-Girls surf camp ocean safety, surfing techniques, surf etiquette, and ocean awareness at an excellent site with gentle waves and a safe environment. All coaches are CPR & First-Aid Certified. Sunscreen reapplication breaks are scheduled multiple times throughout the day.

Join Ocean Adventure Programs' amazing staff and more than 45 years of experience as we make learning a "Whale of an Adventure!" Mornings are spent at our NEW LOCATION, Marina Park Community Center.
Each morning, campers will dissect a variety of creatures including a shark and a starfish, examine plankton under a microscope, test for density, watch chemical reactions, grow crystals, make fish prints, and do ocean-related arts and crafts and hands-on experiments.With our NEW location, we are a 1-minute walk to the beach at 14th Street and a 3-minute walk to the bay.

15th Street Beach Sports would like to welcome NEW owner Erik Nelsen to the program. Erik's 34 years of youth camp experience started in 1986 with Ocean Adventure Programs and has continued with Erik Nelsen Surf Camps. Erik brings structure, organization, ocean safety, and years of experience to 15th Street Beach Sports.
