The Modern Music Academy was founded by Jarrett and Jenny Zellea, who between them have over three decades of combined experience in the music and entertainment industries. All of our teachers are credentialed and working musicians in the music industry and/or are educators of music in the school districts.
Voice Lessons

Whether you are a complete beginner and have never had voice lessons; or have sung in various choirs or ensembles and want to take your singing up a notch (or two); or you're a seasoned pro who is looking for expert vocal coaching and guidance, The Modern Music Academy offers quality vocal instruction for students ages 5 through adult in a variety of styles including pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, and classical.
Piano Lessons

From the 4-year-old who wants to explore music, to the vocalist who wants to start accompanying herself, to the adult who longs to learn how to play his favorite pop tunes (and cross another item off the ol' bucket list), The Modern Music Academy offers piano lessons to students of all levels and experience.
Recording and Production

In addition to music lessons, The Modern Music Academy offers recording and production lessons in its in-house, state-of-the-art recording studio. Our experienced engineers teach lessons in mixing, editing, mastering, plug-ins, audio loops, and performing. Our recording studio runs Pro Tools on a Mac Pro computer with Apogee converters, a top-of-the-line selection of outboard gear and microphones, and a treated live room and vocal booth.
Brass & Wind Lessons

Offering 30 minute and 60 minute trumpet, trombone, French Horn, Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone lessons for all ages. If you live in Caldwell or West Caldwell you have probably driven past us many times on Bloomfield Avenue. If you live in one of the surrounding towns like Verona or Cedar Grove, you have most likely seen us on your way over to Jacks Food Town or Rockin Joes Cafe.
