At So i Heard Music we teach beginner through advanced music lessons, including piano lessons, drum lessons, percussion lessons, voice lessons, guitar lessons, songwriting lessons, violin lessons, and more, in fun high-tech studios built for K-12 students. Students are inspired to play, read, write, and record music.
For children who learn differently, our board-certified music therapists use music exercises to work with various types of learners, including those with diagnoses, such as autism spectrum disorder, ADD and ADHD, and more. All on-site instructors are fully vaccinated. Instructors are all highly-qualified and must pass a background check and training to become a So i Heard Music instructor.

Sean Killary and Sam Morgan founded So i Heard Music based on the principle that music lessons should be fun, and taught using modern technology. The original location in Millburn, NJ opened its doors in July of 2013 and quickly became the talk of the town. By 2018, So i Heard Music has grown to serve more than 1,300 students per month, and all of our students have seen the benefit of our unique style of music lesson.

Please note that some of our services are only offered at our Gillette location due to space and room needs. All So i Heard Music students enroll in weekly music lessons in their instrument - piano, voice, guitar, drums, music production, songwriting, and more. So i Heard Music provides private online & in-person music lessons according to our So i Heard Music teaching methodology, inspired by the Kodaly Method for Music Education, which takes into account differences in the ways and rates at which children learn.

Teachers often overlook how informative the internet can be as a platform for musicians. Videos on theory, video lessons, live performances- I wish I had these resources when I was growing up! Most recently I have been focused on writing music for commercials. I think it is very interesting as it challenges you to write in just about every musical style there is while trying to keep it to only 15 or 30 seconds long.

Students are taught traditional techniques with the help of modern technology. Is the lesson a computer lesson? Absolutely not! We teach all of our students how to read music, in addition to proper hand position and posture. Instructors follow the So i Heard Music Method of instruction, which focuses the educational approach on each student.
