St. Mark’s Episcopal Church
Report
St. Mark's Episcopal Church was established in 1878 on the banks of the Indian River in Cocoa Village, Florida. The original church was designed and built by Gabriel Gingras. Bishop Reed described the church as "a tiny board and batten church, a perfect gem." The wood for the interior of the church was floated across the Indian River from Merritt Island, and local craftsmen made all the all the carvings and furnishings, all of which remain today.

Academics
Report
With a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, St. Mark's delivers a big educational experience in a small school environment. Here, 21st-century skills are integrated into time-honored traditions where students embrace both cursive and coding.

Daily opportunities for enrichment are enhanced by a comprehensive, STEAM-powered curriculum that offers collaborative projects shown to foster deeper knowledge and build confidence in young learners. While the standards are high, the class sizes are small allowing the teachers to move each child at their own developmental pace.
Outdoor Learning
Report
Students will use the Al Glover Memorial Learning Center to engage with their surroundings and learn about the environment. In partnership with the Brevard Zoo's Restore Our Shores Program, students are planting red and black mangroves and grasses along our shore of the Indian River Lagoon. Mangrove roots provide an environment that is home to fish, turtles, frogs, sponges, barnacles, shrimp, crabs and spiny lobster!
