Founded in 1974, the Academy Ballet School of Annapolis (ABSA) has been a cornerstone of classical ballet education in the region. As the only Annapolis-based school following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, we combine rigorous training with a commitment to nurturing students of all ages and abilities. Our faculty, certified by the RAD and enriched by professional dance experience, has cultivated generations of dancers since our establishment. In 2022, longtime teacher and choreographer Lindsay Zetter Lucas became owner and artistic director, continuing the legacy of excellence initiated by founder Eileen Razzetti.We offer structured programs from preschool through advanced vocational levels, including preparation for RAD examinations and annual story ballet productions. Our mission emphasizes technical mastery, artistic expression, and the transformative power of dance. Owner & Artistic Director
RAD-certified instructor with 20+ years teaching experience. Former Indiana University dance program graduate who formed ABSA's Junior Company. Choreographs annual productions and manages school operations.
Gabriela D'Andrea
Ballet Instructor
RAD-certified teacher with international experience in Rome and Maryland. Completed Rambert contemporary dance training. Specializes in ballet technique and creative movement instruction for diverse age groups.
Eileen Razzetti
Founder & Director Emerita
Established ABSA in 1974 after training at Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo School. Former instructor at Peabody Conservatory and Georgetown Ballet School. Holds degrees in dance and design from New York institutions.

Former Pennsylvania Ballet performer with Rock School training. Developmental psychology graduate who teaches diverse dance styles and choreographs for local productions. Certified barre instructor.

We follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for classical ballet training, supplemented by character dance and progressive technical development.

Wonderful experience with teaching staff, students, other parents. A first class classical ballet school ballet training taught by a loving staff of RAD- royal academy of dance- professionally trained and registered teacher, in a totally non competitive atmosphere. What more could you ask for!!!
