Skipworth R Frank, DVM
At our animal hospital, our philosophy is simple: we want to help pets and their owners share a happy life together. Since 1992, Dr. Frank Skipworth and his receptionist, Rhonda, have been working together to serve local pet families, nurturing bonds between people and their companion animals and building trusting, long-term relationships within the community.

In 2008, Skipworth Veterinary Clinic was established here in Richmond, a place that we are proud to call our home. Our love of pets shows in everything we do-from taking extra time during appointments, to keeping our doors open after-hours to accommodate emergencies, to working within our clients' budgets.
Services
Our Team
Report
We are Frank and Renee Skipworth and together we own Skipworth Veterinary Clinic. We have been married since 1989, which was Frank's second year of vet school at Auburn University. We have two children, Lauren, and Carter. Lauren was born in 1993 and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. We are very thankful that she taken an interest in the family business and joined our team at the clinic.
Wellness Care
Report
To help your pet live their longest, healthiest life, we recommend bringing them in for a wellness exam once a year. Since your pet's health is always our highest priority, we offer a comprehensive wellness program that is designed to meet all of their most essential needs. Pet wellness care also serves as a preventive measure against various illnesses and diseases that your companion may encounter during their lifetime.
Vaccinations
Report
Dog and cat vaccines are an essential ingredient in your pet's wellness care regimen. They are one of the most effective forms of disease prevention, and can keep your pet healthier, longer. We also offer vaccine titers here in Richmond, to assess your pet's immunity levels and determine whether vaccinations are absolutely necessary.
Dental Care
Report
Along with wellness and preventive care, dental care is a fundamental component of your pet's long-term health plan. Many pets have poor oral hygiene due to lack of brushing and professional cleanings, which can result in gingivitis or even gum disease. Gum disease occurs as a result of calculus (hardened plaque) spreading below the gum line, attacking the tooth's supporting tissues and eventually leading to the loss of that tooth.
In-House Diagnostics
Report
A complete evaluation of your pet's health would not be possible without our in-house diagnostics capabilities here in Richmond. A routine physical exam can help us detect lumps, bumps, ear infections and other problems, but it does not tell us what is going on with your pet's various internal systems.
