At Lexington Animal Clinic we work closely with a local veterinary oncologist to provide the best quality of life for our cancer patients.

In house treatments include surgical care and chemotherapeutics. Did you know that 78% of dogs over three years of age have some form of periodontal disease. If left untreated periodontal disease can cause pain, infection and affect your pet's behavior. Laboratory testing is not just for sick pets.

Lexington Animal Clinic provides state-of-the-art diagnostic testing for our furry friends. We have the capability to perform appropriate testing in-house or at a reference laboratory. Common diagnostic test include a complete blood count (CBC), chemistry, urinalysis, fine needle aspirate, cytology, intestinal parasite screen, feline leukemia screening and heartworm testing.

Surgical procedures include but are not limited to spays, neuters, declaws, mass removals, orthopedic surgery and oral surgery. Like human medicine, a multimodal approach is used to control pain at Lexington Animal Clinic. Pets feel pain and deserve appropriate pain control before, during and after surgical procedures.

Lexington Animal Clinic provides in-house, state-of-the-art radiography. Like human medicine, we are able to deliver advanced images of your pet's organs, bones, and joints. We minimize stress to our patients and pet owners by using a very efficient X-ray system. We have the ability to work with board-certified radiologists.
Pharmacy

Prescription medications are commonly used for our furry friends to prevent and/or manage medical conditions. At Lexington Animal Clinic we offer a variety of medications that are FDA approved for your pet(s). Prescription medications should always be administered as prescribed. Failure to follow labeled instructions could put your pets health at risk.
Dentistry

Lexington Animal Clinic provides in-house, state-of-the-art dental radiography. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommend that all pets receive annual dental radiographs. Dental radiographs are necessary for accurate evaluation and diagnosis of dental disease.

In one published report, intraoral radiographs revealed clinically important pathology in 27.8% of dogs and 41.7% of cats when no abnormal findings were noted on the initial examination.In patients with abnormal findings, radiography revealed additional pathology in 50% of dogs and 53.9% of cats. A dental cleaning should always include dental X-rays.
