Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. is a PATH Intl. Accredited Therapeutic Riding Center and was incorporated in 1981 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization by Chris Lehman. ATRC was the first therapeutic riding center in our area. Since it's beginning, ATRC has provided therapeutic riding lessons and instruction to individuals of all ages and ability levels in the Greater Capital District area.
Our Staff

Taylor Huntley joined ATRC Inc. as our Executive Director/ Program Director/ Barn Manager/ PATH Intl. Riding Instructor. Taylor is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Wilson College with a Bachelors of Science in Equine Facilitated Therapeutics and a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management.

Certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) and the Council for Education and Certification in Therapeutic Horsemanship (CECTH), she has taught both English and Western riding lessons as well as therapeutic riding lessons.Taylor is a PATH Intl. Mentor and has experience in Dressage and Natural Horsemanship, competed IHSA in college, and has coached an IEA team.

ATRC Board of Advisor meetings are open to the public! Our Board of Advisors is comprised of volunteer members who are dedicated to advancing the mission of the Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. Each strives to assist in key operating areas of ATRC including but not limited to: volunteer recruitment, fundraising/fund sourcing, publicity and media, community outreach, event planning, administration and paperwork, and other activities.

Elsa Marie is a 23 y/o Haflinger mare who is full of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Elsa is sweet yet sassy and makes it known that she marches to the beat of her own drum. Elsa is used for lessons with more independent riders who want to build an emotional connection with a horse. She is very sensitive to the rider's energy and strives to please everyone.

Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. was founded on Martin Road in Voorheesville and ran our programs from this property for almost 40 years. In June of 2021, Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. purchased our Forever Home at 6640 Fuller Station Road, Altamont, NY 12009, thanks to the generosity of the Gleason Family, and the assistance of some very amazing individuals.
