Honing your acting and improv skills is an excellent way to work through stage fright, improve public speaking skills, create interesting characters, learn to "think outside the box", and trust your gut instincts. Students who study acting and improvisation have noticeable improvements in their overall onstage abilities.

We have made it our mission in these difficult times to provide a creative outlet and physical activity in a convenient and safe way. We offer classes via zoom so that students can still get the exercise and socialization that they crave from the comfort of their home. We are still following the CDC guide lines and wearing masks in class as well as social distancing.
Class Dress Attire

Although the style of dancewear varies according to genre, it is important that clothing is made with lightweight, breathable, and stretchy fabrics which provide dancers with comfort and freedom of movement. Proper dancewear is also an important part of discipline in the study of dance. Proper dance attire for ballet includes a leotard, wrap-around ballet skirt or spandex/lycra shorts, tights, and split-sole ballet slippers.

Melody Lane Theatre Department is a musical theatre program at Melody Lane Performing Arts Center. Since 2017, we have produced over a dozen youth musicals, including three pilot productions for Disney. Through audition, education, and performance opportunities, students gain acting, singing, dancing, and ensemble skills as well as create art.
