Oregon Community College Association
The Oregon Community College Association (OCCA) represents the seventeen publicly chartered community colleges and their locally elected board members. Founded in 1962, OCCA is an association whose purpose is to support the colleges before policy-makers and partners whose actions affect the well-being of community colleges across the state.

Leading with racial equity, we advocate, communicate, and collaborate to strengthen community colleges for the benefit of Oregonians, particularly those historically underserved or systemically marginalized in higher education. Our Story
Report
Since its creation in 1962, the Oregon Community College Association has faced many challenges. The recession of the 1980s, funding formula debates, unfunded enrollment growth and property tax limitations all created obstacles for the organization and the colleges it represents. However, in the face of these and other setbacks, the Oregon Community College Association has always found a way to move forward on its strengths and common goals.
OCCA Board

OCCA is governed by a 37-member Board of Directors which includes each president and one board member from each of the seventeen colleges. The board member representatives are chosen by their own local boards and they, with the presidents, elect the association's Executive Committee to provide OCCA leadership each year.
Executive Committee
Report
Purpose: Provide direction to the OCCA Executive Director between board meetings, annually evaluating the Executive Director, and any other functions on behalf of the Board of Directors as the board may authorize. His professional resume: Three years on a board of a private Catholic school, 15 years on a committee for Four Rivers Cultural Center, 2 years on the Saint Alphonsus Hospital board, and volunteers for numerous non-profits.
Oregon Executive Leadership Academy

The Oregon Executive Leadership Academy (OELA) is a year-long cohort program to provide coaching and mentoring to current and up-and-coming senior-level administrators in Oregon community colleges. It will combine face-to-face residential learning with online and campus-based experiences. Demonstrate an expanded understanding of college operations outside their own area of expertise;.
