The boat

Seabird is a Catalina 36 MKII built in 2002. She is the ideal cruiser - roomy and comfortable under sail, without compromising performance. Seabird easily accommodates your charter of up to six. The large cockpit includes a table for snacks and beverages. Below deck the cabin is inviting and comfortable, featuring a refrigerator and a large, clean restroom.

You should bring layers and keep in mind that it is typically several degrees cooler on the water than on shore. Sneakers or boat shoes are best for your safety moving about the boat as well as keeping the deck free of marks. You may bring alcohol on your sail if you desire. Please bring a reasonable amount and drink responsibly; remember that you are on the water where safety is paramount.

If you're new to boat ownership and want to build confidence on your own vessel, we provide private lessons in any Chicago harbor. Alternatively, if you don't own a boat but want to get started sailing, we provide lessons on Seabird. We are available for local delivery of boats between the Chicago harbors and nearby boat yards.
