FishMaui was developed in 1997 by Captain Mike Crawford, a Maui sport fishing veteran and self-professed curmudgeon, and myself - a website designer and mother of two. Over the years, Mike fought hundreds of marlin, mahimahi, ono and other Hawaii game fish. He worked in virtually every aspect of the Maui sport fishing business, from sales, to crew, to captain to vessel/business owner.

There are close to two dozen companies offering fishing charters on Maui. Most of these focus on sport fishing. The best Maui sport fishing charters go out every day, keep their gear in good condition and catch fish on a fairly regular basis. No boat catches every day. Fishing is fishing, after all.
Bottom fishing charters

There are only a handful of Maui fishing charters that specialize in bottom fishing so it's best to book far enough in advance to ensure you're able to reserve a fishing trip that's right for your group. Most of the Maui bottom fishing boats leaving from Lahaina harbor are private charters only, so if you want to book a bottom fishing charter as a share, you should look at boats out of Maalaea harbor.
