Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) has been a cornerstone of Nevada's performing arts scene since its founding in 1972. Established by Vassili Sulich, our organization has grown from modest beginnings into a nationally recognized ballet company and training institution. Under the leadership of President & CEO Beth Barbre since 2006, we achieved financial stability and became the Resident Ballet Company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Our collaboration with Cirque de Soleil and historic multi-company productions like George Balanchine's Jewels demonstrate our commitment to artistic innovation. With Artistic Director Roy Kaiser, a former principal dancer and award-winning choreographer, we continue to expand our repertoire while maintaining rigorous training standards at our 36,000-square-foot facility.Our mission combines professional performances with comprehensive dance education for students aged 18 months to adult, serving over 1,000 students annually through structured programs that develop technical skill, discipline, and artistic expression. We maintain strong community partnerships and have eliminated accumulated deficits through strategic financial management, ensuring our sustainability as Nevada's premier ballet organization.

Dance Training

Beth Barbre
President & CEO
Beth Barbre has led Nevada Ballet Theatre since 2006, achieving financial stability and establishing the company's residency at The Smith Center. She previously served with The George Balanchine Trust and New York City Ballet, bringing decades of dance administration experience to her leadership role.
Roy Kaiser
Artistic Director
Roy Kaiser joined NBT as Artistic Director in 2017 after a distinguished career with Pennsylvania Ballet. He has directed over 90 new ballets and 35 world premieres, bringing extensive choreographic and artistic expertise to shape the company's creative direction and performance standards.
Teran Comito
Director of Education
Teran Comito oversees all educational programming at NBT, managing curriculum development and faculty coordination for the School of Nevada Ballet Theatre. I want to say that my kid had a great Teacher, but...... today is observation day and if I knew my kid was so bad at following directions or basic indications well I least I wish the teacher or the personal let me know how bad she was doing! so I dont keep coming! This place is not cheap, 3 to 4 months is enough to see at least an evolution on her performance since the first day!

We have been attending and enjoying NBT performances for years, but now that there are rumors on social media that the shows won't employ a live orchestra anymore, we'll rather skip NBT. If they save on production cost, we will just fly elsewhere for a great show. If the orchestra comes back, I'll change my rating to 5-star. Yes, it is a big difference in experience.

I love learning and thriving with the teachers there. I also love that you can express yourself without worrying about finding friends. The teachers there are so AMAZING. I recommend this studio for everyone!!!!!
