Rash guards and all Water Clothing: Sadly we are no longer allowing shared use of rash guards. For small children we recommend shortie style wetsuits, they typically get cold much faster than adults. Signs of Illness: If you show any signs and symptoms of illness we kindly ask that you reschedule or cancel your lesson (free of charge), for everyone's safety we will not be taking anyone showing signs of illness surfing (including seasickness).

We at Hook Up Surfing take safety very seriously. Besides, in case you get hooked on surfing, it is important to know the rules of the road. That is why each of our beginner lessons begins with on the beach safety instruction. On land practice can make or break your ability to surf in the water which is why we believe in the right amount of focused practice on land.

With a surf school on Oahu we are incredibly blessed to have access to surf locations that accommodate a variety of levels, goals, and surf heights on any given day. Everyone in this Photo Began their Journey with us as a Beginner and They All Love to Shortboard. Some say learning how to shortboard as an adult is impossible, however, we have taught countless adults and children (numbering in the hundreds) how to short board over the years.
Stand Up Paddle Lessons and Coaching

Your 2 hour introduction to SUP will being with your board on the water where you will learn how to get up, how to turn, and paddling technique. It's our goal to give you enough confidence and information to be able to take your new skills home and paddle. It's not all work though, a beginner SUP lesson is a great way to see fish and sea turtles from above and relax on the water!
