Testimonials
Report
Both of my children have benefitted enormously from treatment delivered by the professionals at Island Therapies, and I always recommend this agency to other parents. The therapists are knowledgeable, professional, and truly care about children. They are creative and fun - always coming up with ways to keep children engaged, while making sure they stay focused on each child's goals.
Alert program
Report
The Alert Program is an experiential, cognitive based approach to sensory modulation based on the principles of sensory integration. It was developed by two occupational therapists, Mary Sue Williams and Sherry Shellenberger. It teaches students to recognize or identify their own "arousal" states and to act accordingly to regulate how alert they need to be for a given task or environment.
Auditory intervention
Report
The Listening Program (TLP) is a clinically-proven approach that gently trains the auditory system to accurately process sound. It helps to improve the auditory skills needed to effectively listen, learn, and communicate. Numerous studies worldwide, including research at the University of Sheffield, provide empirical evidence that substantiate The Listening Program's efficacy.
