Awesome experience! My wife and I had never surfed or paddle boarded, so we decided to take private paddle board lessons. We are in our 50s and our instructor, Peter, was very patient and made the whole experience fun. Paddle boarding is much more difficult than it looks, and we fell down a lot at first. However, our instructor had us both standing and paddling consistently within 15 minutes. We then paddled along the coast for about 45 minutes, rarely falling, and watching whales surface about 200 meters away. Its well worth the money to take lessons from Island Style Adventures!

While my kids had a great experience from the surf instructors (and this review is in no way reflective of their services), Christian for the SUP instruction was less than stellar. On the day of our lesson, he was not very energetic or even friendly, giving us the impression we were wasting his time, he didnt want to be there, or maybe both. My husband and I had never done SUP on the ocean and not only were his instructions not clear, but he took off ahead of us and was yelling at us from the ocean. Then he told us we were going to just sit on our boards by the black cliffs and watch the jumpers

Great guys here! They picked us up from the Westin and took us about a mile down for some prime SUP boarding. great communication and service, the guys were local Hawaiians and clearly know the area well. I would go back to them next time im around.

I have been surfing on and off for eight years. i live in California and while i was here i thought it would be fun to fine tune my surf skills a little bit and get out in the water. i was really excited to go but they canceled last minute twice in a row. the second time we were already there and we walked around looking for them for about an hour before the lesson was supposed to start. at the start time of the lesson they finally called me and canceled. i had to stop snorkeling early, get over there, wait over an hour, and then go home without a lesson. poor communication skills.
