Premier Yachting Destination in San Diego
Founded in 1886, San Diego Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of American yachting for over a century. Our mission to foster interest in all aspects of yachting is supported by world-class facilities in Point Loma, consistently ranked among the top five yacht clubs nationally. We offer comprehensive programs for adults and juniors, including competitive racing opportunities from local fleets to world championships. Our junior sailing program, established in 1928, has produced Olympic medalists and America's Cup competitors while maintaining its original focus on boat care, racing tactics, and sportsmanship. With 600 boat slips, dry storage for 200+ boats, and amenities including tennis courts, a heated pool, and dining facilities, we provide a complete yachting experience. Our staff of over 100 professionals maintains these facilities year-round to serve members and guests. The club's racing legacy includes three America's Cup victories and 10 Star World Championship titles. We continue to innovate through initiatives like the San Diego Yacht Club Sailing Foundation, which has awarded over $30,000 to youth programs since 1990. Our historic clubhouse, moved to Point Loma in 1934, remains a testament to our enduring commitment to Corinthian yachting traditions.

Excellent! Pickleball, restaurant (waygo sliders & N.E. clam chowda) and an amazing boat tour of Al's marvelous, marine wood work.

My grandparents have been taking me to the San Diego yacht club since I was a very small child. I'm now a grandmother myself and felt incredibly nostalgic going back. That said the place does not feel aged it feels classic, very clean and maintained. They've also decorated very nicely for the Christmas season. Several live wreaths and poinsettias and at least five Christmas trees. We were here today on Thursday they had a giant Christmas buffet, about $40 a person they did not stint on the food at all. Gorgeous Southern California weather while sitting out on the patio overlooking San Diego Bay

Nice yacht club to visit if you're in the area. Unfortunately, we didn't have reservations and the place was packed. We wanted to sit outside but eventually they accommodated us inside at high top near the bar.

I was told by the man running my credit card to use his pencil to sign and record the tip on the credit card bill. I ONLY use ink . He said it would be ok. I said, " No thank you, pencil can be erased and a new amount put in to replace it. "

Visiting here by boat, whether for a weekend or an extended stay, is an experience to savor. The tennis courts and lap pool (opens at 5:30a.m. while the moon is still out) are attractive amenities. It's been quite some time since dining in the restaurant so can only comment on the dessert menu, which I did have sample. Well, let's just say, the atmosphere was pricey considering the miniature slices of cake we sampled. And, if you're from a visiting club, there's an extra surcharge. Still, the view of the Bay was incredible.
