Our Story

Beginning in Kokomo, Indiana, the Holder tradition of quality began over 70 years ago. In 1947, equipped with only 7 innerspring units and $1000, the Holder Mattress family business was formed. At first, rebuilding mattresses was the only service provided. However, by 1956 the Holders expanded their business to provide their customers with newly-made, custom-designed, one-of-a-kind mattresses for sale in their own mattress store.

The Holder employees are like family. All of them have a deep appreciation of excellence. They work diligently to create, design and produce for you the most uniquely comfortable mattresses possible. Holder employees are specially trained to create the comfort you want in a mattress, so each mattress is built one-by-one.

Since we hand craft our own mattresses and box springs, we make custom sized and shaped mattresses. Whether you're creating a size to fit your personal needs or looking for an odd size for an antique bed frame, we can build a product to your specifications. Holder Mattress Company sells furniture, accessories and gifts made by other manufacturers that we feel exhibit the quality and integrity that is comparable to our own products. We try to emphasize domestic products from local manufacturers whenever possible. The variety of tabletop decor, accessories and gifts varies widely from vendors and by season.

Should you ever need or want help flipping and/or rotating your Holder Mattress, we'd be happy to oblige. We offer a customizable Mattress Maintenance Program where we will come to your home and do any or all of the maintenance on your Holder Mattresses.
