It was the first and only dry cleaner for many towns around. Originally, Sol Bleck was the proprietor. Peter Kuchlik, Sol's son-in-law and the current owner, purchased American Dry Cleaners in 1998. Previously, Peter Kuchlik was a systems analyst working for Helmsley Spear when he met his future wife, Lisa, working part-time at American Cleaners on Saturdays for Lisa's father Sol, .
Peter took an instant liking to the retail business and after a year left the corporate jungle to begin work at American Cleaners full time. He eventually learned all the aspects of the business and even enrolled at National Cleaners Association's School of Education programs to learn spotting and pressing.
