Lineagepac: Connecting Communities Through the Arts
Lineagepac has served as a vital community hub for artistic connection and creative expression in Pasadena, CA, and Los Angeles County for over 25 years. Founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Hilary Thomas, our organization began as a dance company dedicated to raising awareness for local nonprofits and evolved into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2007. We specialize in multidisciplinary productions combining dance, music, and storytelling to illuminate social issues, while pioneering innovative programs like Dance for Joy, which provides free arts classes for adults with neurological conditions. Our commitment to community accessibility is demonstrated through partnerships with 80+ local organizations, teaching artists in Title 1 schools, and offering affordable facility rentals to underserved artists and nonprofits. With a new 6,200-square-foot home in Northwest Pasadena, we produce 7-8 annual productions for 2,000+ attendees, maintain 6.5 weekly hours of therapeutic arts programming, and serve over 350 students through school partnerships.

Our work has raised $5,000+ for special causes and connected 3,200+ unique individuals through arts education programs since 2024, embodying our mission to use the performing arts as a catalyst for community transformation.

Dance - Theatre - Community - Outreach - This a place to see wonderful performances that reach out to the community often illuminating the challenges that ordinary people face. It is a fun place to take a class in a variety of types of dance. It is a special place of accessibility to the arts for people facing movement challenges. It is also a place that partners with other non-profits in the community. The Lineage Dance for Joy program is a unique gift to the Pasadena community offering 6 free classes a week for people with neurological challenges such as Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, dementia

Great cultural place if you love ballet & enjoy theater. Love the location and ambiance , in the heart of Old Town and so close to many great restaurants.

I loved dancing with Catherine. I hadn't been in ballet for a full semester and due to an injury I was pretty rusty. Catherine was very encouraging and helpful by giving very applicable tips and motivation. I really enjoyed that class and will be back!

I was looking for a studio offering modern dance classes in the 626 because I really needed to go Pina Bausch for a few moments in my life; the feelings/urges strike around the winter solstice. But I wanted a jump start into it of a class in a group setting. I love love love that this place as a non-profit, offers free movement healing classes for TBI, stroke, Down syndrome, and Parkinson's.

A class is $14, well worth it - seriously, take my money. A package deal is 70ish? And there's currently a Yelp $200 for $240 deal for the well committed. Their website is useful and informative

I absolutely love this place. Drop in for one of their evening performances with Lineage Dance Company -- they do shows that are so universally relevant -- about cancer survivors, parenthood, homelessness -- the programming is so thoughtful and centers around topics that touch so many humans.
Also, they offer classes and personal training -- I've never personally taken class with them, but they are so lovely and warm that I can only imagine how great their classes must be!

I saw a nice production last Saturday of "The Mad Woman of Chaillot". It was a cute play and very well done. The staff was very warm and welcoming and offered complimentary wine and homemade cookies. It is a small but intimate venue, I will definitely be coming back !
