ALC is designed to help students experience academic growth, encourage self esteem, and develop skills needed for success. Certified teachers in each school are hired to work with children in reading and/or math. By having a tutor from your school, children receive personalized services based on their individual needs as determined by the classroom teachers and communicated to the tutor.
By using certified teachers within the schools, our model is unique, and ALC is confident that it works well. Academic Learning Center was establish in 1996 in the First Missionary Baptist Church in the Logan Community in Concord. In 2001, we partnered with the Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City School Systems, and United Way, to develop the current model for delivering tutoring services.

Serving at risk students on site at 12 elementary schools in Cabarrus County and at the Boys and Girls Club of Cabarrus County. Our mission is to improve academic goal is to assist children, through quality tutoring programs. Academic Learning Center students strive for higher attendance and are more confident in their ability to participate in regular classroom lessons.
