With desire and determination to create a better future, over 460 women coffee producers in Peru united to take a step toward empowerment and independence by growing, harvesting, and producing their own coffee. Appropriately, they decided to call their coffee Cafe Femenino. Today more than 1,500 women in Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru are all a part of Cafe Femenino.

Blending is the process of mixing several coffees of different origin and type. Roasters blend coffees to add complexity to the cup, and to produce a signature medley of flavors.

Among the many details that a roaster must consider when building a blend is how the green coffee was processed; the bean size and density of each origin in the blend; and, finally, factors for each origin that contribute to optimizing the profile for the individual coffee.We feel that BJ's Primo, Roastmaster, French Roast and Breakfast Blends are fine examples of blending for layered complexity and overall consistency.

The SWISS WATER Process is a taste-driven, 100% chemical free, pure water decaffeination process. It is used by premium roasters and retailers and demanded by discerning decaf drinkers. Many people are choosing to drink decaffeinated coffee for a variety of personal reasons. However, not all decaffeination processes are the same.

The process of roasting coffee involves heating the green coffee beans in a manner that allows for controlled, uniform heat transfer, with succinct cooling to halt the roasting process once the desired roast level has been achieved. This process transforms the chemical and physical properties of coffee beans, expanding and changing the bean density, color, aroma, and taste.

Making great coffee is not rocket science, you just have to pay attention to a few details. Purchasing whole bean coffee helps keep protect the coffee from exposure to oxygen and other contaminants. This preserves, as much as possible, the coffee's natural oils, aroma and flavor. A glass container with a rubber seal works best.
