What scuba diving certifications are required?

Open Water Certification is required. If expired over 12 months, a refresher course is mandatory. Certification verification can be done online if documentation is unavailable.

Are snorkelers allowed on scuba diving trips?

Yes! The Phoenix accommodates mixed groups with a maximum of 14 total participants. Snorkelers and divers share two reef sites daily, including John Pennekamp Park locations.

What dive sites are featured?

Popular sites include Christ of the Abyss, Benwood Wreck, Carysfort Reef, and Spiegel Grove. Specific locations depend on weather conditions and captain discretion.

What conservation initiatives are offered?

Our AWARE Coral Conservation programs include reef restoration, lionfish tracking, and shark protection. Guests can participate in hands-on activities during dives or snorkeling tours.

What equipment is included in rentals?

Full rental packages include BCD, regulator, tanks, weights, mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuits. Tanks and weights only available for certified divers bringing personal gear.

How are weather-related cancellations handled?

Trips may be rescheduled or refunded if canceled due to unsafe conditions. Captains prioritize safety, with alternate dive sites selected when necessary to ensure optimal experiences.

For my second trip with Silent World we visited Christ of the Abyss and it was absolutely incredible. Yasmin, Gabe and the entire crew were super helpful and friendly! I've only snorkeled with them but I'm already planning to get scuba certified with them. Amazing experience!

I have had an amazing experience diving and working with the Silent World team. At Silent World you really feel like you're a part of the family-and the crew goes above and beyond to get to know you and your individual needs. Shelby and Yasmin are a pleasure to work with and really put their hearts into this business. I have had some magical dives off of the Phoenix and am already looking forward to the next one

Dove here while I was on a trip to Miami and it was AMAZING. The staff was super friendly, price was unbeatable (included gear too! Gear was in great shape. Wetsuits we used were brand new still had tags on them) and the dives themselves were fantastic. One dive was at a reef, the other was a shipwreck and the water was clearer than Hawaii. Honestly this was the best diving I've ever done and would take a trip back to Key Largo just to dive.

Saw the staff later that night at a brewery and they remembered us and we chatted with them for a bit while getting recommendations for other places

Silent World is my favorite dive center and it is so close to Miami ! I am a novice diver and asked for a great guide to help me. I met Rob and he was a fantastic guide at silent world! He made the trip personalized to fit exactly what I was looking for. We worked on dive skills and searched for sharks (and found one!) . Hope to come back soon !

Did my first ever snorkel trip here a while back ago and I was hooked. Ended up getting certified later on and now going for AOW. Always such an amazing experience with silent world. The energy and attitude of all the staff members is incredible, and always leave you wanting to come back for another amazing adventure.
