Montana Wildlife Federation
Montana Wildlife Federation advocates to protect and enhance Wildlife, Habitat, and Outdoor Access. For more than eight decades the Montana Wildlife Federation has been a leading voice for protecting and enhancing our wildlife, public lands, and access at the Montana Legislature and in Washington, DC.

Guided by our commitment to the public trust, our dedication to scientific management, and our concern for future generations, we work to promote state and federal policies and decisions that protect Montana's fish and wildlife, our natural lands and waters, and public access to the outdoors.
Services
Habitat
Report
Healthy fish and wildlife populations depend on high-quality, intact habitat. The Montana Wildlife Federation works to protect habitat on public and private lands throughout the state. We advocate for scientifically-based land management and conservation of wild lands and wild waters. Montana's public lands provide invaluable habitat for fish and wildlife in addition to unmatched recreational opportunities.
Wildlife
Report
We advocate for ecologically and economically sustainable management policies that benefit Montana's wildlife. Fish and wildlife that have disappeared from other parts of the West are still abundant in Montana. However, the pressures and threats grow greater and more numerous with each passing year.
Public Access
Report
Montana is home to some of the highest quality natural resources in the nation as well as the longest hunting seasons in the West. However, wildlife managers often face pressure to manage wildlife and recreation for private profit. Roughly 1.5 million acres of public land are inaccessible in Montana due to being landlocked by private land or by individuals who illegally block access to public roads and waters.
