Since 1991, Gold Country Wildlife Rescue has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and orphaned wildlife, at no cost to the public. Help drive our mission of protecting the future of local wildlife by making a monthly or one time tax-deductible donation to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue.

Your donation supporting GCWR's wildlife conservation work will make a true difference in the lives of wildlife that we rescue, rehabilitate, and release back into the wild. We rely completely on donations from the public in order to provide life-saving care to injured and orphaned wildlife. GCWR does dozens of community outreach events in many cities across Placer County.

One way to give is to establish your family fund with the Placer Community Foundation.
Wildlife Emergency
Report
Our Wildlife Intake Center (WIC) is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our hours fluctuate through the year so always check our website or our phone line for our current hours. When our WIC is closed, please keep the animal warm, dark and quiet - do not offer food or water. Please DO NOT leave it at our WIC when we are closed - there are many wild and domestic predators that could kill the animal.
Internships
Report
The Wildlife Intake Center (WIC) Internship provides hands-on experience in the Gold Country Wildlife Rescue (GCWR) clinic working with injured and orphaned wildlife. Interns learn basic animal caretaking procedures, medical protocols, and in-depth species identification and natural histories. Interns will work alongside staff and other volunteers/interns to complete all tasks associated with animal rehabilitation.

We are excited to announce that we have recently acquired a 15-acre property in Auburn, California, that will become our permanent home! While we have very favorable terms for this purchase, we do need to raise $1,000,000 for the financed portion of the purchase and improvements.

We are thrilled that we have $500,000 in matching funds to go towards our $1,000,000 capital campaign, New digs for Gold Country Wildlife Rescue - a ranch for wildlife's second chance. We have also secured the donation of 9 modular buildings from a local school - for FREE!
