We are a not-for-profit, 501c3 organization located on the east end of Long Island in New York. Our mission is to provide therapeutic riding lessons and equine assisted services to children and adults with cognitive, physical or emotional disabilities. We are the only premier accredited member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl) in Suffolk County, NY.

CTREE's talented and passionate employees are motivated by the sense of purpose that comes with our mission and programs. Karen has been involved in the field of therapeutic horsemanship for more than 30 years. She was co-founder of Therapeutic Riding at Centenary University, past board officer and executive director at Mane Stream in NJ and past-president of HRH of NJ.
Our Horses

CTREE program horses are specially trained and provide a variety of gaits and sensory inputs to accommodate the needs of our riders. Pumpkin is from Montauk. He loves his job at CTREE and loves hugging his riders! Pumpkin is a rescue pony - his Montauk family rescued him and he has a long history of trail riding in the dunes and attending many birthday parties!

CTREE is led by a Board of Directors dedicated to our mission. Our talented Board of Directors are professionals with accomplishments in business, government, professional services, and philanthropy. Amalie has been a board member of CTREE since 2018 and has served as the Board Secretary for two years and is honored to be serving as the Board President.

CTREE provides therapeutic riding lessons and equine assisted activities to children and adults with cognitive, physical and emotional challenges, including, but not limited to ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, emotional disability, learning disabilities, stroke, and visual impairments.
Scholarship
Report
Program fees cover approximately 20% of our annual costs. As a not-for-profit organization, CTREE relies on individual and foundation support to subsidize 80% of our operating costs each year. The CTREE Board of Directors has established the CTREE Scholarship Fund. Children who are in need of the benefits of therapeutic riding, but who are experiencing financial hardship can receive partial scholarships.
