Class Leader Training
This comprehensive training program certifies individuals to lead caregiver classes in their communities. Participants receive a detailed scripted curriculum, video resources, and the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook. The training format includes either two-day in-person sessions or five-day virtual workshops, preparing Class Leaders to deliver the program with fidelity. Graduates join a network of over 4,600 certified leaders across three countries, gaining access to ongoing support materials and program updates.
Resource Materials
We provide essential educational materials including The Caregiver Helpbook, available in English and Spanish. This comprehensive resource accompanies class sessions and offers additional tools for stress reduction, decision-making, and resource location. The third edition includes updated information for in-home caregivers, working caregivers, and grandparent caregivers. Digital and print versions are available through our Iowa State University Extension Store, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
Virtual Instruction
Our virtual caregiver classes expand access to critical support services for rural caregivers and those with mobility challenges. Master Trainer Program
This advanced certification program trains experienced Class Leaders to become Master Trainers who can certify new Class Leaders. The rigorous process includes completing multiple class series, attending specialized training, and securing organizational support. Master Trainers play crucial roles in program expansion, conducting trainings that maintain strict curriculum standards while adapting to local community needs across diverse geographic regions.
