Founded in 2016 by brothers Mike and Tony Andino, Riobamba was created to showcase the flavors of their Latin American heritage. Family meals were a huge part of growing up in the Andino household, with a mother from Italy and father from Ecuador there was always something delicious working in the kitchen.

Mike's path to a culinary career started at Kendall college in 2002 where he was classically trained while working at Convito Italiano in Wilmette. He then cooked his way through southern Italy and returned with great passion and knowledge of everything Italian. He has been in charge of kitchens allover the Chicago area including Trattoria 225 in Oak Park, Blue Star Wine Bar in Chicago, and Gusto Italiano in Glenview.
