Vanessa Hein, the owner of Garden Island Massage, is a licensed massage therapist and esthetician serving the state of Hawai'i since 1998. She has dedicated the last 22 years of her career learning the healing arts. She has focused primarily on massage therapy, esthetics, and holistic health. She graduated from Heartwood Institute in 1998 in the Holistic Health Practitioner Program, and from Spa Luna School of Esthetics in 2005.

Vanessa is unbelievably skillful at Neuro Muscular Trigger Point massage. She is very professional and empathetic to your body's needs - strong hands, deep pressure, but intuits when & where to lighten up. She is also happy to apply more or less pressure if you ask.
I hesitated to pay for 90 minutes for a first time appointment, but I would have hated stopping at the one hour mark.

Vanessa just gave me (14 wks pregnant) & my husband back-to-back 60min massages. She traveled to our resort to provide in-suite massages and was perfectly respectful and professional. She has more than 20 yrs experience, including prenatal expertise, and her technique showed it. I would recommend booking days ahead of time because she books up fast. Her services are highly recommended by both of us!

My wife and I were visiting Kaua'i for the weekend and decided to treat ourselves with a relaxing couples massage. I used the Yelp app to request a massage and within minutes I had a reponse from three different mobile massage companies. We decided to go with Amy's massage and wow, we had a great experience. Two masseuses showed up to our hotel with everything they needed. It was super convenient! They were very professional and I liked that they asked us what our problem areas were to ensure they addressed our individual needs. Each masseuse was very experienced and had her own style

This was among the best massages we have received thanks to the owner and to our skilled masseuse, JoJo. Garden Island Massage (GIM) worked quickly and professionally to make our experience happen although it was last minute on Valentine's Day. This experience was of course a vacation highlight of ours - thank you Jojo and Vanessa! Plantar Fasciitis cured!
PS: Jojo is pleasant and professional to interact with. Her knowledge about her craft and how to cure the body of pains is worth mentioning.

Garden island was AMAZING! They came to our hotel room at no extra charge and set up a wonderful experience for us. We had a couples massage with deep tissue. Both masseuses were very professional and made sure to ask about any problem areas ahead of time. They accommodated us the day of and arrived right on time.

We started off day 1 of our honeymoon with a much needed deep tissue massage. Just call for the reservations. We got set up on the same day (early afternoon). The space is located in a yoga studio and serene (you will hear roosters crowing though!).
The massage was so relaxing and exactly what we needed. My masseuse really listened to the areas that I wanted her to focus on and applied the pressure I wanted to get the most out of my massage. I felt the stress leaving my shoulders and head from all that wedding planning!

My husband and I had an in-room 90 minute couples massage. My therapist was Melia she was very professional with an amazing technique. I've had several massages and she had moves I've never felt before. The best thing was that she really listened to me, if I said go lighter or firmer she did it (that's really important). It seemed like she really cared about my experience.
*If you workout or have a labor intensive job Melia would be a fantastic option she works you out!!
My husband had Ela and said she was really good with great pressure.

Five stars for an excellence massage. My girlfriend and I did a 90 minute couples massage (~$150 a person) at their studio in Kilauea. They also offer in room services but unfortunately our Airbnb was too small. The studio they rent out appears to be a barre studio in the day which isn't the best venue as you can hear the cars a bit (really it's not bad and they do a great job with some background music). That being said- we were both SO happy with our massages; we could barely walk straight when we left. 90 minutes is the way to go, particularly if you are celebrating a special occasion

I hate to give any less than 5 stars because the people are lovely and flexible. We called the day of and got an appointment for later in the day. They came to our hotel room and set everything up. It was wonderful and relaxing. The only reason I docked a star is because the pressure was so light. It was perfect at first but steadily became lighter and lighter over the course of the massage. I was still very relaxed and enjoyed the massage but it was more of a relaxation through touch than relaxation of muscles.

Purchased a beachside massage as a Christmas gift for my wife and Vanessa met her at Anini Beach a couple of days later. Vanessa arrived early, set up a small pop up tent in case of rain. She had a great secluded spot picked out and my wife LOVED her massage. Vanessa is obviously very experienced and knew how to apply just the right pressure in all of the right spots. Very affordable massage considering all of the travel and setup time. We highly recommend that you treat yourself to a massage by Garden Island Massage while you are on the island. Mahalo Vanessa...
