The mission of the Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts is to enrich student's lives and broaden their perspectives by providing music education including instrumental training in piano, violin, guitar and voice as well as acting and tutoring.

In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, The Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts (formerly the Piano School of NYC) was founded in 2001 by Vera Anselmo who believes that students are empowered through the joy of music and art education. Today, the thriving school continues to educate students in the fundamental belief that music is an essential way to connect with others.
Music

Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts will closely follow the guidelines of the NYC School calendar. Should schools resume in person classes, our individual and group class will continue in the same format. Online, private lessons will continue to be available at all times. Thank you, Rose, Vera and Melodie!
Theater & Acting

Drama classes offer students with fundamental stage learning in performance, sound, and improvisation techniques. Children of all ages will transform themselves on stage and sharpen their acting with fun theater games, costume play and storytelling.
Acting lesson or Musical theater lesson is a lot more than just Fun! Gain confidence, learn public speaking skills, learn how to enter into another character, engage with audience, ability to memorize lines, and/or learn your favorite Disney Songs!One major thing that youth acting classes can provide is diversity.

Tutoring

We provide 1:1 tutoring for grade K to 6, in person or online. Our subject matters include Math, English Reading and Writing, Science, and general homework assignments, Students will receive academic assistance in their coursework and focus on their organizational skills. Our Tutor will adapt his/her teaching style to the individual student's needs, and will challenge each student to build confidence in the subject areas (s)he tutors.
