To promote, protect and provide resources to preserve and enhance Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge for the enjoyment of present and future generations. The Friends support the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge and its programs in cooperation with the USFWS, advocating for the lands under Refuge management and for educational and restoration programs.

The Friends envision the Refuge as a destination for visitors from around the Treasure Valley as well as from across the country and the world. Thanks to your enthusiasm and generosity, donations soared past Friends' $2,500 goal.

Did you know that there are presently three pair of osprey nesting on pole structures in the vicinity of Lake Lowell. Last fall, Rex Hanson was able to coordinate the installation of a new osprey Wi-Fi camera on the nesting pole near the refuge visitor center. The installation was conducted by Refuge Manager Eddie Owens, Wildlife Biologist Molly Astell, and Refuge Maintenance Chief Brian Clifford.
